EKU’s College of Education and the EKU Foundation recently established the Student Support Fund to help future educators who struggle to pay the many fees associated with earning certifications. Destiny Patterson from Munford, Tennessee is majoring in elementary education and education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing with a minor in American Sign Language. She is the 2020 recipient of the Wietse DeHoop Scholarship.

EKU alumna Katie (Massey) Fromholt recently achieved National Board Certification in Exceptional Needs Specialist: Early Childhood through young adulthood with a Specialty Level in Deaf and Hard of Hearing for ages between birth and 21.
