Stacey Korson, Undergraduate Coordinator (Combs 103)

The Special Education program provides P-12 dual certification in either Learner Behavior Disorder (LBD) or Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH). The dual certification requires an additional option from ONE of the following concentrations:

  1. LBD-Elementary (Gr. P-5)
  2. LBD Middle English & Communication (Gr. 5-9)
  3. LBD Middle Math (Gr. 5-9)
  4. LBD Middle Science (Gr. 5-9)
  5. LBD Middle Social Studies (Gr. 5-9)

The LBD program (P-12) prepares you to teach students with learning disabilities and behavior disorders and earns you a general education certification as well. Dual certification in either elementary or middle grades education and LBD contributes to your marketability because you are certificated to teach both general elementary or middles grades as well as special education.
